The Philippines has been under a state of calamity since Monday. Typhoon Maring (international codename: Trami) has been wreaking havoc non-stop, with its continuous rain and heavy winds. The onslaught of typhoons is not uncommon during this month. However, this particular typhoon has brought some of the heaviest rains in this country affecting areas that are normally not affected by heavy floods.
School suspensions are announced everyday since Monday...and it seems like there isn't a single school in Manila and its nearby provinces that isn't suspended. I know that students always pray for class suspension (heck, I know I do) but I'm sure they didn't expect that it would last this long, with damages this bad. :( Accept the fact, the Philippines is geographically located to accommodate numerous typhoons every year. The most we could do is to be prepared for the rainy season.
If you have been exposed to floodwater, read up on Leptospirosis.
Keep safe, everyone!
