One of the reasons for my depressing week is the loss of a very special friend. I don't blog about him much but if you follow me on Instagram and we're Facebook friends, then you'd know how much we love this fluffy creature. I can't help but post a poem one of my friends sent me, when she learned about our loss...
We miss you, Buggles.
THE RAINBOW BRIDGE
There is a bridge connecting Heaven and Earth
It is called the Rainbow Bridge because of the many colors.
Just this side of the Rainbow Bridge there is a land
of meadows, hills, valleys with lush green grass.
When a beloved pet dies, that pet goes to this place.
There is always food and warm spring weather.
The old and frail are made young again,
Those that are maimed are made whole again.
They play all day with each other.
There is only one thing missing.
They are not with their special person who loved them on Earth.
So, each day they run and play, until the day comes
when one of them suddenly stops playing and looks into the distance;
His bright eyes are intent; His eager body twitches;
Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass,
his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet,
you take him in your arms and embrace; you cling together in joyous reunion,
never to be parted again.
The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head,
and you look once more into the eyes of your trusted friend.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together,
never again to be separated.
